Blasting my hair with cold water before I get out to keep it shiny but mostly it resets my nervous system.

The nervous system reset YES YES YES. I don’t feel like my shower is “complete” without that final cold blast!

Hahahahahahahaha this is how I feel about cold plunging (without getting into a whole conversation around benefits/lack of benefits, it’s a nope for me)

This isn’t a beauty or style tip but : “if there’s a guy you like, make eye contact with him while imagining you two in a flower field passionately kissing” to send him the vibe. 😂😂 but also, I feel like it 100% works!

AMAZING. I love that it’s specifically “in a flower field” 😂😂😂

I can't recall a tip from days gone by, but I wonder what Gloria Stavers of 16 Magazine would think of the teen idols and superstars of today. She was to mega-influencer of the era. How would she rate today's talent?:!

Right?! Would she have evolved with the times or stayed true to her era's superstardom landscape? Would she have been a "celebrity" purist (ie you have to be in a specific industry, create specific kind of media, etc) or would she have embraced the internettification of today's world? Would she have been into it? Appalled? Fascinated? It's so interesting to think about how mega cultural authorities of the past would think about today — and also, how those same kinds of people in today's world will think about the future. What's time-sensitive, and what's actually timeless?

It depends. Every generation has opinions on groups or artists that/who didn't make it who were much more talented-brilliant than the ones who-that did. Many believe auto-tune helped the less talented ascend. Times change, but no one changed culture like the Beatles did. Taylor Swifts fans were so numerous that the sheer volume of them added to the wealth of the areas that held her concerts.... That would be an interesting debate.

My mom hated all the teen magazines so I didn't get to read them much. On the occasion I managed to get a hold of one it felt like a huge act of rebellion. (Now it makes me laugh to think about the little things like this being the extent of my “bad”ness.) I hardly got a chance to read through them, mostly sneaking a peek whenever I had a chance, so don't remember any tips. I always went straight to the quizzes and “embarrassing moments”.
